20 years. Seven herbs – and we still have not had enough.

We’ve faced herb shortages, heat, cold, storms and rain. We’ve built up, taken down, rebuilt and expanded, celebrated with you and struggled alongside you. We’ve weathered a pandemic and a festival crisis, and every year we look forward to wonderful, enchanting, and always special evenings with you, when spring comes to the Roßmarkt and it’s time once again: Who makes the best Grüne Soße?

And so in 2027 we’re back on the Roßmarkt, when the question is: Who makes the best Grüne Soße?

From 20 April to 1 May, 2027, we’re celebrating 20 years of the Grüne Soße Festival. The evening shows kick off on 24 April with a wonderful anniversary program.

Over the 7 festival evenings 650 enthusiastic guests each night get to sample seven distinct Grüne Soße variations prepared by different local restaurateurs. At the end of the evening, the voting cards come out, and you, the audience, crown the evening’s winner! Over the course of the festival week, a total of 49 chefs from Frankfurt and the surrounding Rhine-Main region will showcase their mastery in preparing this legendary sauce. The grand finale on 1 May will reveal the overall winning sauce!

Host, Andy Ost, presents dazzling show acts featuring the best in comedy, cabaret, variety, and music. He’ll be supported by the beloved Hilde aus Bornheim and our one-of-a-kind Festival band, “Andy und die Gartenzwerge.”
