A Change of Perspective

The legendary character, Anton Le Goff (brought to life by Maja Wolff), launched the very first Grüne Soße Festival back in April 2008. It started small: two evenings, 14 sauces, fantastic artists, and 160 enthusiastic sauce testers in the audience each night. Just one year later, it exploded – with barricades, a green carpet, seven spectacular nights, and a roaring finale in the Frischezentrum. Since 2010, Anton has been making the Roßmarkt absolutely electrifying every year!

He has since tasted, debated, consumed, and deliciously entertained around 80,000 festival visitors, all while crowning a winner in the audience-voted battle for the Best Grüne Soße.

After 18 years of herbal battle, Anton is officially passing the microphone to Andy Ost. But don’t worry – Maja Wolff is staying with the Festival and is now simply changing her perspective!

Good News Brings Challenges

Since everyone had assumed the Festival wouldn’t happen next year, our hosts naturally filled their calendars! As a result, Andy Ost will be on tour on Friday, May 8th. To the absolute delight of everyone, Sabine Fischmann will step in to take over the hosting duties that evening!

The beloved “Hilde aus Bornheim” also has commitments and won’t be able to make it for three of the evenings – but relax! Someone is stepping in whom truly no one expected. Surprise guaranteed!

“The New Star”

Andy Ost was already a smash hit at the 2025 Grüne Soße Festival, captivating the audience over four evenings and winning hearts immediately. He is a multi-talented songwriter, instrumentalist, and singer – a subtle observer who skillfully combines the unique (and sometimes quirky) aspects of everyday life with his incredible talent for parody, bringing it all brilliantly to the stage.

Now, he is leading the Grüne Soße Festival into the future with wit, charm, and sensational music. A huge welcome to Andy Ost!

“Voice of Power”
 
Sabine Fischmann takes over hosting duties on May 8th. Known for her powerful voice and deep knowledge of herbs, she is intimately familiar to the audience as an artist who was there from the Festival’s very first hour. Last year, she charmed everyone with her debut as a host and moderator. We look forward to an evening packed with female power and comedy artistry, as Sabine will welcome not only the seven herb-warriors but also the physical comedy act Tridiculous to the show stage!

“18 Years – And I’m Still Here!”
 
She used to subsist entirely on head cheese, smoked pork knuckle, and cold cuts – greens were strictly for the rabbits! Even though her Willi still resists, Hilde turns the Festival into her eight-day “Veggie Day” every May (apart from the occasional piece of Fleischwurst). Even if the parsley starts growing out of her ears, this indestructible character from Bornheim stands firm on the Festival stage!

“We always hit the right note…”

Year after year, they set the musical tone on the Festival stage: Andy and the Garden Gnomes (Andy und die Gartenzwerge). Featuring Andreas Neuwirth (piano), Christoph Maurer (drums), Klaus Bussalb (bass), Christian Lauterbach (guitar), and Gernot Dechert (saxophone), they provide the perfect musical herb-mix. They accompany the guest artists, deliver the best anthems about Frankfurt, Grie Soß, and the famous Klappergass, and ensure the Roßmarkt is rocking. It’s a treat for the ears – not just for local fans!
