Even the youngest guests get their big moment at the Grüne Soße Festival: In the youth competition “Grüne Soße Festival Goes to School,” Frankfurt primary school children from 49 classes prove they are true herb experts. For seven days, they transform the festival tent in the morning into their stage – armed with wooden spoons, great enthusiasm, and plenty of team spirit.

Under the guidance of professional chefs, each class whips up its very own Grüne Soße. At the end of the day, a colorful jury of personalities from culture, gastronomy, and local civic life decides which sauce takes the daily win. But honestly, everyone comes out a winner – because this is about so much more than just victory: it’s about creating something together, trying new things, and proudly presenting your own creation.

In between cooking sessions, theatre and interactive activities keep the excitement high before the field trip wraps up with a shared lunch.

The youth competition delivers pure festival vibes – and the kids are all in when the big question arises: “Who makes the best Grüne Soße?”
