Frankfurt’s Iconic Dish Meets Global Cuisine

International Night Debuts at the 2026 Grüne Soße Festival

On Friday, May 1, 2026, Frankfurt’s largest culinary festival will make history on the Roßmarkt by introducing its first-ever International Night of Grüne Soße, featuring an entirely English-language show. By opening the festival to an international audience, the event transcends language barriers and places Frankfurt’s famous „Grie Soß“ into a global context. This milestone evening highlights Frankfurt’s identity as a cosmopolitan, world-class city.

Global Flavors Meet Local Color

On this special premiere night, international chefs from Frankfurt and the surrounding region will compete with their creative takes on the classic herb sauce. It will be a fascinating look at how different cultural influences transform the local favorite, turning Grüne Soße into a culinary bridge between regional identity and global diversity. As with all festival evenings, the audience acts as the jury. The winner of the International Night will earn a coveted spot in the Grand Finale on May 9th, where eight finalists will compete for the ultimate title. More competition, more excitement, more delicious experiences.

English-Language Program Featuring Carrington-Brown

The International Night will be hosted by Andy Ost, who will guide the audience through the evening entirely in English. The featured guest act is the multi-award-winning British music-comedy duo Carrington-Brown. For over a decade, Rebecca Carrington and Colin Brown have entertained audiences worldwide by blending classical and contemporary hits with clever British humor. And, as always, they are joined by their iconic third member: Joe the Cello.

The Answer to Frankfurt’s Diversity

Frankfurt is one of Germany’s most international cities, a fact long reflected in the festival’s DNA. While international vendors have always enriched the Festival Market, the demand for a dedicated International Night has grown stronger—and now, it becomes a reality. We are truly excited to kick off this special chapter in our festival’s history,“ explains organizer Maja Wolff. „On this night, Green Sauce becomes a culinary ambassador between nations, proving that tradition and innovation, local roots and global openness, go hand in hand.

A Night for Expats, Locals, and Culture Fans

The International Night is designed for the diverse international community of the Rhine-Main area, as well as locals who enjoy intercultural exchange. In cooperation with the Newcomers Network Frankfurt, the evening will serve as a gathering place for people from around the world to rediscover Frankfurt’s iconic dish together.

Be There on May 1st

Guests can book individual tickets or group tables. In a unique twist, groups are encouraged to design their „Country Tables“ to represent their home nations or international communities. Corporate tables are also available for companies wishing to celebrate with their international teams. V.I.P. table options are also available. As always, the ticket price includes a tasting of seven unique Grüne Soßen served with traditional potatoes and eggs, a full selection of beverages (wine, apple wine, beer, and soft drinks), and the complete, spectacular show program.

The 2026 Festival

The International Night begins the 2026 competition. Over eight nights, 56 restaurants will compete for a spot in the Grand Finale on May 9th to be crowned the best. With its blend of culinary excellence, live entertainment, and audience voting, the festival remains one of the region’s largest culinary and cultural events.

The Festival Market opens early on April 28th for those wanting to get a head start on the festivities.
